Our Philosophy
Lakeside Childcare delivers programming that caters to children’s natural curiosity, supports their affinity for risky play, and prioritizes their fundamental right to well-being. We provide opportunities for children to engage, express themselves, and foster a sense of belonging within our centre and among our staff.
Developmental Focus: Our Early Childhood Educators use a play-based and High Scope approach to encourage exploration and understanding of the natural world.

Our Programs
Every child learns differently. Our programs are designed around observation, curiosity, and play.
We meet children where they are and helping them grow at their own pace.
Toddler Program (18–30 months)
Our toddler program connects little ones to the natural world through practical life play, problem-solving, nature exploration, and more.
Strategies: Our RECEs observe children daily to create experiences related to their classroom interests. These experiences are reflected upon within the group to explore daily learning.
Communication: Experiences from your child's day are uploaded to Lillio, our parent communication app, with in-depth details of their learning.
Preschool Program (30 months–5 years)
Our preschool program prepares children for the next stages of schooling while keeping play-based learning at the forefront. Children explore outdoor classrooms, garden beds, and more.
Strategies: RECEs discuss and observe children's interests to create and implement activities that support them developmentally, physically, and emotionally. These experiences often pertain to school preparation.
Communication: Educators share experiences relating to your child's day via Lillio.
